Sr R&D Engineer

Purpose of Job:

Use engineering skills to develop and lead new products that will position TransWorld Med as a company that is on the forefront of the interventional industry.

Major Duties and Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead in the development of new and innovative and catheters for OUS and US markets
  • Lead technicians and other engineers, as well as cross functional team members, to attain team goals.
  • Establish in-vitro test methods which mimic in-vivo parameters for bench top product evaluation
  • With input from all departments, write and execute in-vitro protocols for product performance, reliability and quality characteristics
  • Monitor R&D device builds assuring a timely finish, assuring the highest quality possible
  • Aid in finalizing the product specifications for current and future products.  
  • Assist in engineering new, or modify existing tooling to help in the manufacture of the finished device, or any of the sub-assemblies
  • Assist in engineering new, and modify existing processes to increase efficiencies and yields in manufacturing for current and future platform products
  • Continuously study the industry for possible development opportunities
  • Ensure that current platform products have all regulatory filing in-vitro and clinical trials requirements completed

Requirements:

Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Process, or related field) and a minimum of 5 years industry experience, or equivalent education and experience.   Candidate must show capability or experience in taking on the responsibility for driving projects. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must.   Pulse generator design/FEA and catheter experience a plus.
